Help Launch STEM Space: A Local STEM Learning Center for Kids
We’re building a community-powered STEM center in Pasadena, Maryland — and we need your help to open our doors!
Hi, I’m Ryan Rich, founder of STEM Space, a new nonprofit with one mission: to make hands-on science, technology, and engineering education available to every student, no matter their income, school, or background.
This summer, we’re running our very first camps with robotics and real-world tech projects. But to truly grow, we need to take the next big step:
Create a permanent makerspace and classroom — right here in our community.
What We’re Raising For
We’re seeking $2,200 to help make STEM Space a reality.
Your donation will go directly toward:
Student Laptops (top priority!) – So every kid can code, design, and build
STEM Equipment – Robotics kits, tools, and 3D printers
Classroom Supplies – Tables, chairs, signage, and whiteboards
Camp Scholarships – For local kids who can’t afford to attend
⏰ We're hoping to raise these funds before the start of the school year in August to get the best deals on laptops/technology for our future programs.
Why This Matters
Kids in Pasadena, Glen Burnie, Severna Park, and Brooklyn Park have big ideas — but little access to hands-on STEM tools outside of school. Our region has far fewer classroom and afterschool STEM programs than other parts of Maryland.
We’re creating a space where:
A 10-year-old codes their first robot
A middle schooler learns to 3D model
A teen finds a crew of fellow inventors
This isn’t just a classroom — it’s a launchpad for creativity, exploration, and community.
How You Can Help
Donate any amount — even $10 helps
Sponsor a Chromebook or laptop — $250
Share this with friends, family, and local businesses
Leave a note of encouragement — we’ll share stories and updates this summer!
Why Give to STEM Space?
We’re a 100% volunteer-run nonprofit
Every dollar supports student learning
Our team includes award-winning educators, college students, high school mentors, and professional engineers
We’re grassroots, local, and laser-focused on access and impact
Together, We Can Build Something Big
This is just the beginning. With your help, we’ll open Pasadena’s first community STEM hub — a place where every kid can imagine, explore, and invent.
Goal: Open our permanent location by November 2025
