Hi,

My name is CeCe and here is my and Stella’s story

On Oct 1, 2025 I had the worst thing that could’ve happen to a cat owner, my cat Stella lost feeling in her back legs and couldn’t put weight on them. I become worried when she didn’t coming running for her treats and found her in the closet in pain. I rushed her to the emergency vet where I was told that she most likely had a blood clot and was told that it’s very deadly for cats. I decided to do the testing to see if signs were pointing to that. The test came back and signs weren’t pointing to that but to be sure they recommended me to go to another vet clinic to do an an echocardiogram of her heart to rule out heart disease.

I decided to go to the recommended vet clinic to get the echocardiogram of her heart. We drove 15 minutes to the next vet clinic and was told that I needed to keep her at the vet clinic overnight so she could get the echocardiogram and read the next day. The next day I got a call from the vet clinic that her heart was looking good so it ruled out heart disease the next step after that was to go to another vet clinic to get her MRI to look at her spine to see if it was an actual spinal cord injury arrive at the vet where she had to stay to get an MRI done. I had to wait for that testing came home waited and was called from the surgeon to discover that it was actually a spinal cord injury she had a slipped disc that was pressing on her spinal cord so the only way to resolve it was to get surgery besides the MRI plus the surgery I was looking at a total of $11,000 in total for everything because I could not see Stella be put down I decided just to put them on my credit card and decide to move forward and actually took out another credit card to cover the rest. She had her surgery on October 2 and October 3 she came home. Stella’s recovery was long and grueling, but we managed to come through it. Fast forward to today, January 17, she had a check up with her surgeon to discover that she is totally incontinent. She has no pain receptors in her tail and she has no muscle control and her rear end which means I am now at a crossroads. I would love to keep Stella, but financially I am tapped.

I am coming to the go fund me page to set up a fund so that way I can pay her medical bills, and also buy an indoor cat enclosure for her and all of the stuff that comes with keeping an incontinent cat as far as diapers, pads, wipes, and anything else to make sure that I am trying to give her the best life. I had stella for seven years, ever since she was seven months old. She’s been with me through everything we lived on the East Coast together and we travel from the East Coast to the West Coast to start a new life. She’s been with me through my divorce and it’s just been me and her since I cannot imagine my life without Stella, but I do need help and as hard as this is for me to ask help, I’m asking any little bit helps we greatly appreciate it so thank you for reading Stella and I story
