Support Stellar's Fight Against Lymphoma
Donation protected
My son Stellar (19) has had a very rough and scary year. In March, he had a spontaneous pneumothorax (lung collapse). This resulted in ER, ambulance, hospital, and doctor appointment bills.
In September, he had a sore throat and a swollen lymph node. This led to two urgent care visits with no change. Fast forward three months, and he has had ten doctor appointments, an ultrasound, CT, aspiration, needle biopsy, excisional biopsy, two very scary ER visits, and an oncology appointment.
Due to my change in careers in August, we had two different insurance policies this year, which means two different deductibles. Needless to say, not much has been covered, and he has quickly accrued a massive debt. With the new year, the deductible ($15,000) will again start all over.
He has been diagnosed with lymphoma. His tissue has been studied by three pathologists but ultimately sent to Johns Hopkins to determine what type of lymphoma he has. He will need another biopsy and a PET scan very soon.
His oncologist has determined he will need more care than he can get here in Kerrville and referred him to MD Anderson in Houston.
This means we will have a lot of long, anxious trips to Houston for chemo over the next year. Adam and I both get paid hourly, so we will be losing a lot of income during this process.
I am still having labs and CTs every 6 months due to me having renal cell carcinoma a few years ago and a liver tumor we are monitoring. This causes high medical bills as well.
We were also scammed by an insurance broker and lost all of our savings in August.
Through all of this, our faith and trust in God's path and plan has not wavered.
We are asking for anything you can comfortably give. Please donate, share often, and pray more. The prayers have been felt!
God is great!
