Each Summer in Hinsdale, Massachusetts, Something Extraordinary Happens.
For two weeks, fifty adults come together at Camp Ashmere. Some arrive on wheels, others on two feet. They communicate with words, letter boards, hands, or bursts of sound. To the outside world, this might look like a mix of “disabled” and “nondisabled” people.
But here, those labels don’t exist.
At Camp Ashmere, we are one community. It’s a place where creativity and chaos thrive, where people are seen, celebrated, and deeply loved.
In just a few days, we create and perform an original musical together. It’s wild, messy, and miraculous—and it changes lives.
This is our camp. And now, I’m making a film to share it with the world.
**I’m all in—putting up my own money and working thousands of hours to make this happen. I’m determined to create something that truly captures the magic we have all experienced. **

Why This Film? Why Now?
Six years ago, I came to camp as a wide-eyed 16-year-old thinking I was there to “help.”
I was wrong.
Camp didn’t just change how I see others—it changed how I see the world.
It’s a place where someone in a wheelchair can dance across the floor. Where every person’s quirks and brilliance are embraced and woven into a chaotic, breathtaking performance.
This film will capture that magic and share it far beyond camp.
When the film is finished, we’ll use it to inspire others, to show what true inclusion looks like, and to help raise critical funds for our camp’s future. It’s not just a film—it’s a way to open hearts and let people see how unique and beautiful this place really is.
