Stefanie recently received an unexpected diagnosis that requires heart surgery. As many of you know she has the kindest of hearts too all her family, friends, and colleagues. Unfortunately, medically her kind heart is not functioning as it should; she has a big leak in her mitral heart valve. The surgery is so specialized that she will be sent hundreds of miles from home for surgery. This will be a burden financially on top of the stress she is already experiencing as her heart fails to support her. Please join us is making that financial burden manageable as she and her husband are absent from work without pay, packing their bags, and journing to an unfamiliar city for surgery. We are not sure which location she will travel to as of now, but will update when known.

Many of you know Stefanie from her workplace at KSMU/KOZK at Missouri State University, her many years at the Girl Scouts of the Missouri Heartland, the four years at Drury University- Class of 1993, or her growing up between Cabool and Houston, Missouri and graduating from Cabool High School - Class of 1989. Through it all Stefanie has been the friend, the student, the colleague that was all in. She was ready to help, ready to celebrate, ready to roll up her sleeves, or be supportive any way she could. Now is the time that she needs the support. We hope you will be encouraged to send her that support in any form that you are able. Send your well wishes, prayers, and hopes for a successful surgery and recovery. Please also consider a donation so that she can focus on getting well and not on travels or medical bills. With her many roles as a loving wife, mother of twins, step mother, daughter, sister, aunt, godmother, and friend- to know Stefanie is to love her. Once she is your friend she is in it for life.
