The Starship X Collective is a 16-year old collective house in Worcester, MA, and is part of a broader network of collectives and community spaces in Worcester and beyond. We inherited debts and bills from prior residents, and we need your help to find our financial footing. It is more essential now than ever to preserve physical infrastructure that is dedicated to building the world that we want to see, as safer spaces for queer people, trans people, and activists are increasingly under threat in today’s political and social climate. Help us regain financial stability so that this property can remain a part of the local trans community and organizing ecosystem!

We are a group of trans anarchists who just moved into the Starship Collective, a collective house in Worcester, MA, and unknowingly inherited the bills and debts accrued by previous residents. We are a new group, and our housing is dependent on paying off our debts and achieving financial stability. With your help, we’re excited to build towards our many goals, hopes, and dreams, such as:

Continuing to provide safe(r) and more affordable housing to the queer and trans community in Central MA

Continuing to provide safe temporary emergency housing for trans folks relocating from unsafe states, with the assistance of getting social services set up and resources for finding local housing.

Hosting regular community events again such as movie/game nights, community meals, and a community gardening space

Making improvements to physical infrastructure including repairs to downstairs bathroom, front porch, kitchen ceiling, and basement.

Contributing to our local organizing ecosystem by hosting potlucks, hosting prisoner letter writing events, and opening our yard as a community garden.

We are astronomically excited about these projects and for this fresh start for the Starship - and we need your help to make it happen! Here are some benchmarks we’re looking forward to achieving with you:

⭐ $5K raised will mean we can pay off past property taxes, and start paying down a private loan the collective received to continue existing while in this rebuilding phase.

⭐ $10K raised will allow us to pay off that private loan and begin making critical repairs to the building’s infrastructure, and improvements to our common spaces, in service of hosting more folks and increasing our capacity to provide emergency housing.
