Hi friends,

My name is Ashley, and along with my husband Levi, I founded and now run Starlight Haven Equine Rescue in Kirbyville, Missouri. We take in slaughter-bound, neglected, at-risk, and surrendered horses and give them a safe place to land when they have nowhere else to go.

Right now, we average care for 25-30+ horses, many of them seniors, hard keepers, or in rehabilitation.

We go through 10+ hay bales every single day as well as Alfalfa Pellets, Senior feed, expensive medication, shavings, etc.

• Purchasing Food and Supplements for the horses

• Blankets, buckets, and other necessary horse related items

Running a rescue is beautiful… and exhausting… and sacred work. We have buried horses this year. We have built temporary stalls in garages during storms. We have stayed up through freezing nights checking blankets, water troughs, and breathing. And we keep doing it because these animals are worth staying for.
