My name is Amanda Holden and I joined the Stargazers Theatre family in 2016. Not only did I meet my husband, Nick, at this incredible venue, I gained what feels like second parents – John and Cindy Hooton. John and Cindy opened Stargazers in 2009 with the mission “To bring great entertainment to great audiences and to be a warm and welcoming gathering place for the community.” They have been fulfilling this mission for 11 years and continue to work towards this, even during these trying times. There truly is a reason Stargazers has remained the best live music venue and event center in Colorado Springs over all these years. The love, generosity, and personal attention John and Cindy give to their performers, guests, and staff is unmatched and has made this family-owned business a local treasure and many people’s “second home.”
As you know, COVID-19 and the restrictions following have had a significant impact on small businesses worldwide. Since March, we have had to cancel countless events and issue hundreds of refunds. We were forced to close from March to June of this year. Once we were allowed to reopen, we could only operate at 20% capacity and sometimes as little as 14% capacity. Our doors are now closed once more. John and Cindy work so hard for our community and I think it is time that we work for them. While they would never personally ask for donations as they would much rather help others, I know many people would like a way to show their support of Stargazers Theatre and live music. This is your way to do so if you are able. All donations will go directly to helping keep our beloved music venue running. Any small amount will surely help as we currently do not have any upcoming events scheduled due to the new Level Red restrictions in El Paso County.
