Stan is my friend and mentor, a pillar in our community, and an important artist in California recognized for the spiritual and cultural teachings he imbues in all of his works. For over five decades, Stan has been a revered arts teacher, culture bearer, and a key muralist in the continuity and evolution of the Chicano arts renaissance. As a member of RCAF, an influential arts & activism collective, they worked alongside the farmworker movement, using their talents to inspire and uplift the people.

Now a respected Elder and guide, Stan continues to mentor individuals and groups, always supporting work he believes in. He recently retired from teaching and is focusing on cementing his legacy as an artist, father, grandfather, and community builder.

Yesterday (5/17/26), an unexpected disaster struck when a massive windstorm uprooted a huge oak tree, which fell on his studio and devastated the structure. Fortunately, no one was injured or in the studio at the time, but Stan is now facing the daunting task of clearing the tree, rebuilding his studio, and restoring his creative space.

We are reaching out to ask for your support during this critical time. The funds raised will help Stan cover the costs of rebuilding and support him through this transition as he enters his first year of retirement.
