Support Stacy's End-of-Life Care
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Haley, and I’m Stacy’s oldest daughter. I’m starting this GoFundMe on behalf of my dad, and my family as we navigate one of the hardest times of our lives.
As many of you know, my dad suffered a devastating injury roughly two years ago that forever changed the course of his life. In August 2023, my dad tragically attempted to take his own life and survived a gunshot wound. This injury caused permanent brain damage, memory loss, and left him unable to care for himself. Despite all of this, my dad is a living miracle, and we are grateful every day that he is still with us.
Currently, my dad is in a healthcare facility in Conroe, TX, and is receiving hospice care. This is not end-of-life care at the moment but is meant to ensure his comfort during this difficult time. As part of hospice care, they have asked my siblings and I to put together an end-of-life care plan, which we are in the process of doing. We want to make sure that when that time comes, we can give my dad the same love and care he has always given us. Sadly, this has come much earlier in life than any of us anticipated.
The financial burden of these decisions and arrangements is overwhelming. Between the three of us, we are struggling to cover even a fraction of the costs for end-of-life care and legal fees for necessary paperwork. It’s a reality that we never expected to face so early in our lives, and as the oldest child and next of kin, I’ve been doing my best to manage the overwhelming responsibilities. But we simply can’t do this part alone.
We're asking for assistance with the costs of my dad’s end-of-life care and the legal fees we’ve incurred along the way. Anything you can contribute would greatly help ease the financial stress, so that we can focus on being with my dad during this precious time. When the time comes, we're hoping to be able to spend our time being able to grieve, rather than be worried about the financial stress.
For those who know my dad, you know he is the sweetest, kindest person you could ever meet. He’s always been there for me, my siblings, and anyone who has needed him. He’s the type of person who has never met a stranger, always wearing his heart on his sleeve. He deserves the best, and we want to give him nothing less.
We would be deeply grateful for anything you can contribute. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this with others who may be able to help would mean the world to us. This GoFundMe will remain open indefinitely, and every donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward my dad’s care.
Additionally, if you would like to visit my dad, he would love to see you. He loves visitors, and getting to spend time with his family and friends. You can contact me directly for more details about visiting him or to be put on his visitor list.
On behalf of our family, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support. Your generosity, kindness, and love are so greatly appreciated.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Haley, Taylor, and Carson
