There are parts of the pet care industry that happen quietly behind the scenes. Moments our clients never see.
Every day, our team shows up smiling, caring for dogs, answering phones, managing playgroups, and helping families feel confident leaving their pets in our care. But sometimes, behind those normal daily interactions, there are incredibly heavy situations that go far beyond daycare and boarding. Today, we are asking our community to come together for one of those situations.
For over 10 years, Stacy has been a part of the Fetch n’ Catch family. Her two dogs, Hubble and Zara, have been familiar faces in our facility for many years and are deeply loved by our team.
Shortly before Easter, Stacy became critically ill and was admitted to the ICU, where she remains today. What began as a serious infection quickly turned into a devastating series of medical complications, including heart surgery for a valve replacement. While she is thankfully now awake and conscious, she still has a very long road ahead.
During all of this, Hubble and Zara have remained in our care. Over the past several weeks, our team has continued caring for them every single day, ensuring their food, medication, grooming, and exercise needs are met while also providing love and stability as their mom fights like a warrior in the ICU.
Then, just this morning, another crisis hit.
Hubble suddenly developed GDV (bloat), a life-threatening emergency that required immediate surgery. Our staff quickly and expertly identified his condition and rushed him to the veterinary hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery that ultimately saved his life. The cost of that surgery and follow-up care is approximately $10,000. On top of that, at this point, the boarding and care for Hubble and Zara has surpassed $7,000, not including food, medications, and grooming. Fetch n’ Catch will be waiving all past and upcoming charges related to this situation for as long as Stacy needs. We aren’t hesitating to help because that’s what family does.
However, we are asking our community to help Stacy with the overwhelming financial burden surrounding Hubble’s emergency surgery and the difficult road ahead once she is finally able to return home. Every dollar donated will go directly toward Hubble’s emergency surgery costs and supporting Stacy during her recovery.
To our staff and managers: you are heroes in this story. While continuing to care for hundreds of dogs and clients every day, you have quietly carried an enormous emotional weight with compassion, urgency, and love. We could not be prouder of you.
And to everyone considering donating, sharing, or simply sending prayers and positive thoughts: thank you. It means more to us than we can say.
