Support Stacy During this Unexpected Second Cancer Journey
Donation protected
As you all may know, Stacy was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma breast cancer in October 2023. To the present date, she has completed 16 rounds of chemo, followed by a double mastectomy; however, she's not out of the woods yet.
During her mastectomy, the doctors discovered that the cancer had spread into her lymph nodes, which pushed her into stage 2 breast cancer. Starting August 1, she will undergo 32 rounds of radiation, which will take approximately 6.5 weeks to complete. A month after the radiation treatments are finished, she will be receiving eight more rounds of chemotherapy, which should take six months to complete. If there are no delays, active treatment should be finalized by the end of April 2025!
Unfortunately, she was also told that returning to the classroom is not recommended. This is due to her severely compromised immune system and the physicality of teaching. Even though she has more energy, she gets wiped out quickly and easily. Stacy's oncologist, surgeon, and radiation oncologist have told her that remote work is ideal moving forward. She plans to actively look for remote work in the coming months.
In the meantime, as a single mom, she will continue to need financial help with doctor bills, house bills, and everyday expenses for the next phase of these treatments. Her daughter, Emma, will start middle school this school year, and her son, Ben, will enter 4th grade this year. A lot is happening for them right now! Any amount you can donate to help alleviate the financial burden of this unexpected journey would be incredible!
