Support Staci's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
Staci was recently involved in a severe motorcycle accident. Known for her resilience and adventurous lust for life, Staci now faces a daunting journey of medical treatments and rehabilitation.
The injuries she sustained are extensive, requiring multiple surgeries, intensive physical therapy, and round-the-clock care. While Staci's strength is unwavering, the financial burden is overwhelming for us. We are reaching out to our community to help lift some of this weight from our shoulders.
Staci has always been the first to lend a hand, inspire with her courage, and bring joy to those around her. Now, she needs our support. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a significant difference in her recovery. We ask that you join us in supporting Staci, so she can get back on her feet and back to the life she loves.
The full scoop:
Staci took her bright yellow 2001 Harley Davidson Road King out to Cape Cod for a day trip that was cut short. Within a matter of seconds, a pickup truck came quickly into view and she only had moments to brace for impact before she was airborne.
She sustained:
- A dislocated right elbow that broke the skin and required stitches
- A fractured left ankle that broke the skin and had to receive pins, a plate and stitches on the 10in long cut as well as the 5 inch long surgical incision
- Road burn across the left arm, chest, and shoulder
- A 4 inch deep gash across the left knee that required stitches
- 2 fractured vertebrae that required spinal fusion with 4 surgically implanted screws and a metal support rod
- Countless bruises
She was lucky to have another biker nearby who called 911 and a retired EMT who was on the scene from a nearby vehicle to start tending her injuries.
EMT's packed her up and rushed her to the local police station and then picked up by an aeromedical helicopter that flew her directly to Boston Medical Center.
Gratitude:
Staci is a strong advocate for being in safe and full gear when riding; this belief saved her life that day. We want to take this as an opportunity to appreciate the gear that kept a terrible moment in time from being the last moment of Staci's life and to encourage others to please gear up when riding.
She was wearing:
- A Snell certified, full face, Kevlar helmet from Sedici Moto
- Hard knuckle motorcycle gloves
- Leather Harley Davidson riding boots
- An armored Aramid riding pants from NBT Clothing
