Help Support Staci in Her Cancer Journey

Dear friends and family,

We are reaching out on behalf of our sister-in-law, Staci, and her family as they navigate an incredibly difficult season of life. Many of you have been asking how you can help, and after much prayer and consideration, we felt led to create this Go Fund me to share her story and provide a way to ease some of the burdens they are carrying.

Staci’s Journey So Far
On April 22, Staci was admitted to the hospital after two weeks of heavy bleeding, weakness, and difficulty walking. During her stay, her discharge doctor urged her to undergo a CT scan of her throat, as she had been experiencing voice changes for nearly a year. That scan revealed a tumor nearly blocking her airway.

On May 14, Staci received the devastating diagnosis of Stage 3 laryngeal cancer. Just a week later, on May 21, she underwent surgery, followed by a tracheostomy the next day to help her breathe safely.

After weeks of waiting for biopsy results, it was confirmed that the tumor was indeed cancerous. Staci and her doctors made the difficult but hopeful decision to move forward with a combination of chemotherapy and radiation in the fight to shrink or remove the tumor.

Setbacks and Challenges
Since starting treatment, Staci has endured multiple chemotherapy sessions and multiple hospitalizations.
    •    She was first rushed back to the hospital due to severe bleeding, losing more than 500 mL of blood before doctors were able to intervene surgically.
    •    Shortly after, she was admitted again and diagnosed with C-diff, a serious infectious disease. During this time, doctors also discovered that Staci is neutropenic (meaning her white blood cell count is dangerously low). This makes her especially vulnerable to infections while already undergoing chemotherapy.

Despite all these challenges, Staci continues to fight with courage and determination. She is surrounded by her loving husband, children, and family (when they can make it out there. Their family is mostly based out of Utah and they are stationed in Maryland at this time. We are thankful that we can be support even know the distance isn’t easy nor ideal during this battle she is fighting) —but the physical, emotional, and financial toll is immense.

How You Can Help
As a military family, Staci and her husband are incredibly grateful for the insurance benefits they receive. However, insurance does not cover everything, and the out-of-pocket expenses are adding up quickly. Daily trips to and from the hospital, parking fees, prescriptions, specialized supplies, and other unexpected costs have become overwhelming. Staci is not well enough to contribute financially, which has created additional stress for the family.

We are asking for help in easing this financial burden so that Staci and her family can focus fully on her healing and recovery. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a difference and will go directly toward:
    •    Hospital parking and transportation costs
    •    Prescription medications and medical supplies
    •    Daily living expenses during treatment and recovery
    •    Unexpected costs that arise along the way

Thank You
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for reading Staci’s story and for considering supporting her family during this time. Your generosity, prayers, and encouragement mean more than words can express. Together, we can help lift some of the weight off their shoulders so Staci can focus on what matters most—her health and healing.

If you are comfortable with it, we are adding Jason’s Venmo so that they won’t have fees taken out of each donation and every cent will be able to provide for their needs-
