Stacie Foxwell is a beloved member of her community and has been for decades. On November 7th, she received the call no one ever wants: her home had caught fire. She rushed back from work to find that an electrical fire had broken out in her bedroom, destroying her most cherished belongings…her artwork, books, clothing, and the personal items that made her space feel like home.

Stacie, her son Matt, and her two dogs and two cats have all been displaced. While they’ve since found a temporary place to stay, the process of sorting through what’s left, what wasn’t lost to flames or smoke damage, has taken an emotional and physical toll.

Stacie is a lifelong server of Harford County, and is currently at Longwood Gardens’ 1906 in Pennsylvania. This time of year is the busiest and most important for her career, yet she has missed shifts to deal with the aftermath of the fire. She also had to cancel a family trip she looks forward to every year; another heartbreaking loss on top of everything else.
