Support Stacey Stanley's Recovery from Eaton Fire Disaster
Donation protected
My daughter, Stacey Stanley, has been left homeless due to the horrible Eaton fire in Altadena, California on Jan. 7th, 2025. She evacuated her home the night of January 7th, with very little belongings and her dog Bella, thinking she'd be back in a day or two. We are so grateful they are safe!

(PIC: view of fire from Stacey's street - this yellow house unfortunately later burned to the ground, as well as most homes North of here and a half block East.
While her home is miraculously still standing, when most of the town is not, she is unable to return to it due to the contaminated soot covering all of her belongings (lead, asbestos, metals, VOC's, etc). She needs to use a respirator and goggles to enter (see cover photo).
All of the soft items (mattresses, carpet, couches, insulation, etc) need to be thrown out and replaced. Kitchen appliances need to be thrown out and replaced. Electronics need to be thrown out and replaced. Every inch needs to be professionally cleaned and remediated. The insurance will only pay actual cash value (not replacement value) for the damaged items, so she will need to come up with the difference to replace her furnishings.

(PIC: Stacey's trees in her front yard with burnt limbs - this is how close the fire came to her house. Houses 3 doors down and across the street burned to the ground).
The insurance companies want the residents with homes still standing to get the remediation done ASAP and move back in. The problem with that is the entire town is contaminated due to 9,418 structures being burned to the ground, many of them 100 yrs old or more. It is not safe for their health to move back into her home until the town is cleared of the toxic debris. The current estimate for completion is 18 months.
While she still has a home, it is unlivable, and she's going to lose most of her belongings due to the smoke damage. She is going to be displaced for a long time, and she has lost almost all of her income because of it. While she's working on developing new sources of income, any help you could give her would be much appreciated.
This is going to be a very expensive and long road for her and all of the people of Altadena.
Thank you for your consideration.
