Community Rideshare Assistance Program

Dear Apache and Navajo County Communities,

At St. J Safe Ride, we believe that access to transportation should never be a barrier to opportunity, health, or human connection. That’s why we’re seeking your support to help fund our Community Rideshare Assistance Program—a nonprofit initiative designed to provide free and low-cost transportation to seniors, low-income families, individuals with disabilities, and others facing transportation, and delivery of goods challenges in our community.

The Need

Every day, members of our community are forced to miss medical appointments, job interviews, school events, and essential errands because they lack reliable transportation. Traditional public transit is often limited or inaccessible, and commercial rideshare services can be too expensive for those already facing financial hardship.

This program does currently:

Offer free or low-cost rides to all community members.

Recruit and support a network of local drivers.

Aims to partner with hospitals. Currently affiliated with local senior centers, schools, rehabilatation, detox and local nonprofits to identify those in need. Currently has seven months providing transportation for all these needs without assistance in funding.

We prioritize access, safety, and dignity for every rider.

Your Impact:

We’re requesting donations to support our program and sustainability until federal grants are acheived.

Funds will be used for:

Driver recruitment, training, and reimbursement (e.g., mileage, insurance).

Program coordination and scheduling tools, dispatch, etc.

Rider safety measures.

Community outreach and awareness.
