Black Student Fund is an exemplary education equity organization in the Washington, DC area. To make a better tomorrow, we empower scholars with the resources needed to solve the academic challenges of today. “Building Strong Futures” is our motto. It represents our belief in the power of education, the importance of excellence, and the value of achievement. This education extends to BSF STEM and math.
Conchita Poole was avid supporter of the Black Student Fund's effort to prepare students for math and science careers. She wanted the Black Student Fund to prepare students for career success in STEM. The Conchita Pool Math Circle provides middle and high school students with math enrichment programs where students develop advanced math application skills. We offer a diverse range of math learning tools and programs to enhance students' mathematical skills and understanding, where excellence in mathematics meets spirited competition. To this end, we are working with three BSF schools that are located in the DMV area to help build a MathCounts team for the 2025-26 academic year. MathCounts is a three month-long opportunity to create a solution and fun explanation of a real problem. The solution is normally an algebra solution. The solution is presented in a video presentation and submitted to a national competition. Here is a creative video of our 2023 Smarties' entry.
We request your help so that we, in collaboration with St. Augustine, can field a strong effort for the 2025-26 competition.
