Support Srinivas Meedimala's Cancer Battle

Dear Friends,

I am reaching out to you all with a heavy heart to share the story of my brother, Srinivas Meedimala, 27 years old, who had persistent abdominal pain for over a month. Initially, he was diagnosed with colitis and was given some medications, but the pain did not subside, and we had to take him to the emergency multiple times. On our third visit to the emergency room, doctors found he had a severe obstruction secondary to stricture. The biopsy result showed poorly differentiated carcinoma. He had to undergo surgery to remove the obstruction. He underwent an exploratory laparotomy, which showed extensive intra-abdominal tumor burden. No resection was performed due to the high risk of complications, and a diverting colostomy was created to redo the obstruction.

Pathology report from the biopsy confirmed it was positive for cancer, and doctors confirmed it is Stage IV Colorectal Cancer as it spread all over. He is currently admitted in OSF Bloomington, IL on a liquid diet and recovering from the surgery.

We want to continue Srinivas's recovery and treatment in India where he has support from a lot of family members. Next treatment plans include chemotherapy, immunotherapy, surgery to remove tumors, and any palliative therapies required in his home country.

Funds raised through this campaign will go towards covering Srinivas's travel assistance as he is not in a state to travel by himself and needs to be transported with authorized medical assistance. The remaining funds will be used to support the family in covering part of Srinivas's initial medical bills.

This news was unexpected considering his age and truly devastating, but we know we’ll get through this. We are grateful for all the support you’re able to offer.
