Dandavat Pranams, dear devotees. I am posting this on behalf of Srila Bhaktivedanta Bhagavat Maharaj’s disciples and well-wishers, with his permission. Since 2016, after a month-long illness, Srila Maharaj has experienced progressive neuropathy, which has now spread from his toes to his knees. This condition has made walking and moving extremely painful and difficult. Over the years, he has also developed A-Fib and, after a TIA in January 2024, received treatments in India. Despite some stabilization, he suffered a couple of falls during his most recent trip to Bangalore, which set back his recovery. Upon returning to the USA, further testing revealed a COPD diagnosis, explaining his ongoing breathing challenges. While seeking acupuncture and specialist care in Houston, his health took another turn, leading to hospitalization for pulmonary edema and preliminary congestive heart failure. After three weeks in the hospital, he was moved to a rehabilitation facility, but new kidney issues have since emerged, causing further concern.
Throughout all these challenges, Srila Maharaj has remained dedicated to his spiritual service. He has spent 56 years serving his beloved Śrīla Prabhupada, having taken sannyas from Śrīla Bhaktivedanta Narayana Gosvami Maharaj in 2008. Since then, he has relied on donations as he traveled and preached, but his declining health now prevents him from continuing his service as before. With mounting hospital expenses, he is facing a difficult financial situation.
We are reaching out to the worldwide Vaishnava community—those who know and love 'Uncle Bhagavat'—for support. The funds raised will help cover travel and ongoing care, ensuring Srila Maharaj receives the support and treatment he needs. Please consider donating to this GoFundMe or contacting us to get involved in other ways. Your kindness and generosity will make a real difference in his life during this challenging time.
