Hello everyone,

My name is Andrea and I'm a friend of Shannon's. On behalf of the Thonus Family, we are reaching out with heavy hearts but strong hope. Shannon’s trip to the emergency room for abdominal pain led to the devastating diagnosis of stage 4 colon cancer, spreading to her liver, and their lives changed in an instant.

We all know Shannon in different ways; daughter, sister, wife, mother, family, friend, 232 on the radio. She and her husband Jim have devoted their lives to helping others - with Shannon being a Supervisor at Sussex County Sheriff's 911 Center, and Jim being a Marine and NJ State Trooper. It’s now our turn to help them.

The path ahead right now involves chemotherapy and many medical appointments. With treatment costs, medication, time away from work, travel expenses, and just everyday living needs for themselves and their two little girls, the financial burden is creeping up.

We have started this GoFundMe to raise money to help ease at least one of their pains, and allow them to focus on healing and recovery.

If you’re able to donate, no matter what the amount, it would be appreciated more than you can imagine - every act of support counts. Shannon will be the beneficiary and will be able to draw funds whenever needed. We also ask for you to please share this campaign, as we know the Thonus Family has support in many different areas.
