Support Sprout's Path to Full Recovery
Donation protected
This past Sunday, my fiancée Jordan and I had to rush our sweet boy Sprout to the emergency vet after we noticed he lost the ability to use his back legs. As frenchie parents, we’ve always been terrified by the IVDD stories we hear. Unfortunately this is now our reality with our fur baby who is just over 2 years old. Sprout never lost deep pain sensation in his back paws, but he was completely paralyzed in his back legs. Thanks to the quick and incredible care team, they had him in MRI and surgery less than 24 hours later. We were told with this method he had a 90-95% chance of full recovery. This was a no brainer decision for us. Our happy, love filled little man deserves the best life we can give him. Surgery went well and after a few days of monitoring, he is finally home with us! He is doing as best as he can, but will now be on strict crate rest for the next two weeks. However, his MRI found that all his discs are unfortunately degenerative. We are now going to spend the rest of his days protecting him in every which way and hoping this never happens again. While I will never regret going the surgery route, this has caused financial difficulties for us. As many people know we are getting married later this year, so finances were already tight. I was able to drain most of my emergency savings for his care, but we need to rebuild. We are saving money in every way we can and we know it’s tight for everyone right now, but every bit of help can help us feel a little less stressed. We truly don’t expect anything from anyone, but please share even if you can’t donate. We know it’s a lot to ask, but we so appreciate anyone who wants to show our Sprout some love. Thank you!
