Hi Everyone!
This is a plea to help Spot, a sweet dog that I met in 2020 while volunteering during Covid at a small area rescue in Utica NY.
At the time he was around 3-4 years old and didn't always "present well in the kennel" because he would bark loudly and jump at the front of the kennel when visits came in...but he was the smartest boy and a great big baby.
Spot was adopted by a family in October of 2020, but sadly was returned almost a year to the day later due to some family dynamics within the home.
In the summer of 2022 the area rescue closed, and took the 5 remaining dogs (which included Spot) to merge with a larger rescue/sanctuary in a Florida location.
Sadly, that was not a good situation, and not all of the dogs who made the trip from Utica down to Florida made it out of that horrible place.
Many dogs were euthanized, and the woman running the location indicated that Spot also would be euthanized if Anything's Pawsible Rescue did not take him when she had him and another dog dropped off at a Veterinarian's office in Miami FL.
When someone sent me a picture they found of him online looking thin and dirty when he was dropped off at the vet's office I reached out immediately to Chelsea who runs Anything's Pawsible Rescue and have been sending money to help cover his expenses as I'm able.
Spot was my favorite dog at the Rescue when I volunteered, and the main reason that I would go there 3-4 days per week...he waited for me to walk him and play with him. Unfortunately, given that I had 2 senior dogs and 2 senior cats at the time, he could not come home with me.
Spot has been with Anything's Pawsible Rescue in Miami for about a year now but due to the low number of fosters available is in a "boarding facility". The "boarding facility" is out of a woman's home, so it IS a home-like environment rather than kennels.
Anything's Pawsible Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit and is paying $200 per week from their donations, fundraising, etc. to house Spot where he is.
Sadly, they are currently unable to take in any new dogs and are in dire need of assistance to cover boarding (for Spot and others) and vet expenses.
I feel the need to do everything possible to ensure Spot's safe place while he waits for a home to spend the rest of his senior years...he is around 8-9 years old now....so many years going from rescue to rescue, kennel to kennel, without having his person or family to love him until the end of time.
Please help.
Every little bit can make a difference.
Donate is someone's memory, a favorite pet or family member who loved dogs.
Please either donate via this GoFundMe or Check out their FB page and donate that way indicating it is to assist with "Spot's Boarding Expenses".
AND if anyone is interested in ADOPTING Spot and giving him a LOVING, STABLE HOME then PLEASE reach out to Chelsea at the Rescue!!!
