Hello! We are teachers in Saint Paul Public Schools at a small alternative high school - Gordon Parks High. With the influx of federal agents in Minnesota, as well as the growing needs of our students, we are starting a food and needs shelf for our students to help out during times of insecurity. Food may be more difficult than ever for many of our students and community members. If we have the ability, now is the time to pitch in and help the youth of our city to survive and thrive. Donations can be cash on this site or direct donations at the school. In addition, we will provide household and hygiene needs. If we raise enough money, we would like to provide rent support. While ICE is targeting immigrant communities, we will be supporting these students firstly; however, we have many students with many needs, so funds may be directed to any students with immediate needs in our school as well.
All funds will go to providing food and supplies directly to our students. We will be doing a weekly cash out withdrawal of the funds from this page and will use 100% of those funds to provide food and household supplies for the shelf. No funds will be used to pay anyone or for gas/time/logistics.
Some of our most needed items include:
-Canned vegetables, beans & soup
-Canned meat and proteins
-Rice, pasta & cereal
-Peanut butter
-Cooking oil & spices
-Can openers, cooking tools
-Quick to prepare meals
-Culturally significant food items
-Household Items
-Hygiene products
We will have items in stock on demand at the school and we will also make deliveries, especially to students who can not leave the house due to ICE occupation.
