Support Spencer spinal chord rehab and recovery

Aloha everybody, This fundraiser is for Spencer Fermo and helping support him through this next season of recovery, healing, and rehab as hospital bills will be plenty and He needs not only community but financial support.
On May 11th, 2022, Spencer dove into shallow waters and unfortunately hit his head, shattering his C7 vertebra and injuring his spinal chord. He remained conscious the whole time and was able to talk to first responders and friends. At the hospital after assessing the injuries, Spencer was airlifted to Oahu to be admitted to the ICU for surgery and rehab. Because of the placement of injury, Spencer is currently fighting to regain feeling in his torso and legs, and from the chest down still has so far been unable to control movement. Currently monitoring his blood pressure, we are praying and hoping that He is able to leave the ICU soon and start the road to recovery and hoping to regain movement and strength in the lower half of his body.

If you do not know Spencer, here’s just a bit of what he’s about. Spencer is a 23 year old dude with the heart of an old man and a teenager. He loves coffee, adventures, jocko podcast, and moving his body. Spencer is a guy who is so intentional about loving everybody around him, bringing a smile to the community, and leading those around him with his actions and love. He has been living in Kauai, HI serving as an intern, alaka’i (leader), and internship coordinator for the non-profit organization Makanalani kids camp. He is one of the hardest workers you’ll meet, in life. As an avid mover, this boy loves to skate, smoke you in a pull up contest, work long farm days, and is constantly seeking to gain knowledge and insight from the Lord. Spencer is a really special guy and while this accident has shifted his path and next season, we know that the Lord always has a greater plan and will bring purpose to the struggles we face. As a community, we can stand behind him and help to support him as He has done for so many. Please consider donating words, prayers, and finances if you are able.
