Dear Friends, Family, and Kind-Hearted Supporters,

On Monday, June 23rd, my cousin Spencer King was unexpectedly admitted to the hospital, where doctors discovered three serious blockages in his heart. Just days later, he was transferred by ambulance to Maine Medical Center for further treatment.

Since then, Spencer has undergone an extensive battery of tests: CT scans, blood work, chest X-rays, an echocardiogram, and two cardiac catheterizations. After a thorough evaluation, his incredible cardiac team determined that placing a stent would be the best course of action to restore blood flow to his heart. Open heart surgery was strongly considered, however, after factoring in Spencer’s age and the potential of future complications the surgical team thought this less invasive procedure was most appropriate at this time. The procedure was successful and Spencer is finally starting to feel some relief.

Spencer is a devoted husband and a loving father to two beautiful children. As the primary provider for his household, this sudden medical emergency has placed a heavy financial strain on his family. After three weeks of missed work due to these circumstances, our goal is to help ease the financial burden of medical bills and essential living expenses such as their mortgage, groceries, childcare, and fuel costs.
