I'm Spencer (1LeggedPirate) and as painful as it is to ask for help, especially publicly, I need it. I'm on disability and about two years ago I didn't get paid one month because apparently they thought I was no longer disabled; as if my leg would suddenly grow back. My previous land lord told me it was fine and to pay on it over time. I had been, but with how strict my budget is, it was only 10-20 dollars extra any given month. Fast forward, new landlord and a rent increase this year, and Ive lived here so long that they talked me into a month to month lease instead of yearly. Come to find out, I've been charged a rent late fee every month that I hadn't been told about, meaning I hadn't made a dent in the one month of missed rent. And because of the new month to month lease, I'm now considered too far behind in rent and as of yesterday (09/18/2025) I've been handed an eviction notice. To either pay up or get out so to speak. As much as their behavior upsets me, I still did miss a payment, and this is one of the only wheelchair accessible apartment complexes in my town, so I can't exactly leave, because I don't really have anywhere I can go. As Much as it stresses me out to ask for help, there's nothing I can do, nor do I have anything I can sell that is worth enough to keep my home. So if you are able, even just a few dollars can possibly make my goal.
