Hi, I’m Ed Coan, and I’m raising funds to support Special Olympics Virginia, an incredible organization that instills confidence in individuals with intellectual disabilities through sports and community engagement. The impact of your contributions goes beyond the playing field; it fosters inclusion, joy, and friendship among athletes, families, and the community. Together, we can help create a world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
I am doing this through the 2026 Polar Plunge in Prince William County, on the shores of the Potomac River. (The Plunge, for safety considerations, has been moved to above-ground pools. Same great excitement will be present.). This is the fifth year I have done this event. (Picture from last year’s event.) I brave the cold for a cause. Last year was brutal. I have been colder (New England lad), but this is Virginia.
I am trying to interest fourteen donors at $25 apiece. I already have two. Money goes towards Special Olympics-Virginia’s goal of $140,000.
The Plunge is Saturday, February 14. This is Valentine’s Day, and a donation would send a nice love message to the participants. Thank you for taking note of my appeal.
A big shout-out for the first responders (police (Chief of Police Peter Newsham), fire, EMTs) who are huge supporters of the event as well as making it safe for the Plunge participants.
Every dollar counts and brings us closer to a more inclusive future. Please consider donating and sharing this campaign to help us make a difference together!
