Are you familiar with Special Olympics Illinois? It’s a not-for-profit organization that provides year-round training and competition in 18 sports for athletes with intellectual disabilities. Beyond sports, they offer programs focused on leadership development, health education, and building inclusive communities through initiatives like the Law Enforcement Torch Run and Unified Champion Schools.
So how am I supporting this incredible mission? I’m taking the plunge literally! I’ve signed up to participate in the 2026 Polar Plunge, bravely jumping into icy waters on Feb 23rd to support my local Special Olympics Illinois region, Quincy University . I know just thinking about it might give you chills! But while the cold will be temporary, the impact of this event on the lives of these athletes will last a lifetime. I’ve set a personal fundraising goal of $1000, and I would be so grateful for your support. I’m not asking you to jump into freezing water with me but I am asking if you’d consider making a donation to Special Olympics Illinois in honor of my Polar Plunge. Any amount is truly appreciated and brings me one step closer to my goal.
Please join me in supporting Special Olympics Illinois. Every dollar counts and brings us one step closer to helping these athletes shine!
