Help Restore Our Senior Dog Sanctuary After Flood

Tax deductible
On July 21, 2026, our world changed overnight.

A flash flood devastated our Special Needs Senior Dog Sanctuary in Stamford, Connecticut. The lower level of our home, where our sanctuary operates, filled with water, destroying the space where our senior dogs live, heal, and receive daily care.

For the past 14 years, our 501(c)(3) nonprofit has been dedicated to one mission: giving abandoned, neglected, and medically fragile senior dogs the love, comfort, and dignity they deserve for the rest of their lives.
What began with one dog named Chester has grown into a lifetime commitment. Since 2012, we've rescued 44 senior dogs with special needs. Today, 13 senior dogs call our sanctuary home.

Unfortunately, because of the way FEMA and flood insurance classify our home, the level where the sanctuary is located is considered a "basement." Although Stamford taxes our home as a four-bedroom house and these rooms are fully finished and used every day, flood insurance does not cover the damage to this level.

The result has been heartbreaking.

What We Lost
The flood destroyed or severely damaged much of the sanctuary, including:
  • Flooring throughout the sanctuary
  • Walls, drywall, insulation, and trim
  • Doors and baseboards
  • Dog living areas and supplies
  • Laundry area
  • Our dryer, which is essential because we wash multiple loads of bedding, blankets, and towels every single day
  • Storage, equipment, and countless items that help us care for our dogs

This wasn't just damage to a house.
It was damage to the home of 13 senior dogs who rely on us every day.

Why This Matters
Many of the dogs who come to us have been abandoned because they are old, sick, disabled, or require expensive medical care.
They don't know they've been rescued.
They simply know they've finally found a soft bed, warm blankets, good food, medications, and people who love them.
We refuse to let this flood take that away.

How Your Donation Helps
Every dollar raised will go directly toward restoring the sanctuary, including:
  • Water damage restoration
  • Drywall and insulation replacement
  • Flooring
  • Electrical repairs
  • Replacing our commercial-use laundry equipment
  • Restoring the dogs' living spaces
  • Replacing damaged sanctuary supplies and equipment

As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, your generosity helps us continue providing lifelong care to senior dogs who have nowhere else to go.

How You Can Help
If you're able to donate, whether it's $10, $25, or $100, it truly makes a difference.
If you can't donate, sharing this fundraiser with your friends, family and community is an incredible way to help.

For 14 years, we've said "yes" to the dogs no one else wanted.
Today, we're asking for help so we can continue saying "yes."
From the bottom of our hearts and on behalf of every wagging tail and gray muzzle that calls this sanctuary home.

Thank you.
