Support Spay Neuter Efforts

We really need your help. Last month we had 0 ASPCA spay/neuter appointments. We were able to get less than a handful of cats fixed thanks to other rescue groups. This month we didn’t get any appointments either. To get appointments you have to wake up at 5:55am on the first day of the month and open up the ASPCA website. Once it’s 5:59am you keep refreshing the page until appointments appear at 6am. There are so few appointments and so many rescuers that all the appointments are taken before it’s even 6:01am. It’s insane. The smallest lag means that you won’t have any appointments for the rest of the month. Even if you do get appointments chances are you got 5 appointments for the whole month which is nowhere near as much as the average rescuers needs to TNR a colony. It’s kitten season and we are receiving more and more requests for help TNRing colonies with pregnant cats. Not to mention we took in 10 kittens recently who will all need to be fixed. Getting a cat fixed at the ASPCA is free because spay/neuter is fully subsidized (they do charge for additional services which is usually why we fundraise when we have friendly cats) There are low cost options in the city that range from $90-120 a cat. Which is totally reasonable for 1 cat but quickly becomes very expensive when you have multiple cats. We need your help raising funds for spay/neuter. Anything and everything helps. We cannot do any intake until we’ve fixed some kittens and we cannot help anyone requesting TNR services if we don’t have the funds to fix the cats. Please consider making a donation. Even $5 helps!
