This project is to help our local Special Olympics basketball team, the Spartanburg Wildcats! This team is the vision of Coach Derrick Means, who has lived an able life despite being born with cerebral palsy. His dedication to excellence and health is what has fueled his advocacy work for individuals living with disabilities. He and his wife, Tia, have assembled a group of athletes who share a passion for the game of basketball.

Our team provides an invaluable opportunity for individuals with disabilities to build physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship.

Special Olympics programs are entirely free for athletes and their families, ensuring that everyone, regardless of financial circumstance, has a chance to play. We rely solely on community support and donations to cover our expenses, and right now we need your help to get ready for full participation in the upcoming season and the state tournament. Our team's motto, in the famous words of Mr. Keyon Lytes, is "Disability does not mean inability."
