On Feb 11th we were at our friends house in San Jose to watch the Super Bowl. My husband took our son outside to play in the front yard during the end of first quarter. Moments later gunshots started firing outside and through the house. I ran to the back bedroom with our daughter and then started screaming for our son Tyson. Although it felt like forever our friend thankfully brought Tyson to me in the bedroom. After making sure he was not injured, I ran screaming for my husband Jason. I went outside when I saw him laying on the ground bleeding. At that moment I was in hysterics!!!! The police and paramedics came minutes later and rushed him to the hospital. After hours and hours the doctors let me finally visit him in the ICU. I had no idea the extent of his injuries at that time. They informed me he was stable but had a bullet go through his wrist and landed in his face, along with a bullet stuck in his pelvis. After finding out all of this information, and once they removed the ventilator, I was finally able to speak to him for the first time. This was an emotional moment and relieving knowing my husband was alive and able to see me. He was in ICU for about 3 days he was then moved out to the main hospital. On Friday February 16th he was finally able to come home, and as you can imagine this was a huge relief. We know this is going to be a very LONG recovery, but we thank God everyday Jason is alive and Tyson did not get hurt. We are also sending our prayers to the others involved in this tragedy as there were three people shot.
Jason is set up for disability with no date to return back to work and medical bills are starting to come in plus a lot of doctor appointments. We are asking for any help at this time and we greatly appreciate any support you can give. Thank you in advance and please love your loved ones daily!
