Our lil fam has been through THE RINGER the past year and a half and today we received devastating news about our 6 month old kitten - which is why we're here to ask our amazing community and family for some support during this time.

We've gone through my own cancer diagnosis and treatment, our cat Ichiban's oral cancer diagnosis last January which lead to us having to put him down a few months later, and our old lady of the house Titty the Kitty declined rapidly due to old age last month and we had to put her down a few weeks ago. Whew. In December we felt like we were finding our footing again and decided to adopt a kitten. We brought Johnny Cougar Mellencamp home on December 18th and have fallen for him fast. He has always had some eye issues with an upper respiratory infection and what the vet kept saying was a flare up of some kind from the shelter.

The last few days Johnny's eyes became so cloudy his iris' weren't visible and his vision was impaired where he was running into things. So today we took him to an eye specialist and she diagnosed him with Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) which is a feline coronavirus that up until June 2024 was untreatable and 100% fatal. Human Covid has new meds on the market that help treat FIP now but DAMN is it expensive. Each pill is $39 and he needs to take them for 84 days which is way beyond what we as two artists and afford. The meds will give him a 92% chance and most likely bring back his full vision and we're hopeful that with your generous support we can make that happen!!
