While exciting things were happening around our small towns to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, there was a lot of excitement building for the Southold Robotics Team 870 at Hofstra University. Team 870, together with their amazing alliance captain from Kings Park and alliance partner from Southampton, won the FIRST Long Island Regional. With this win, the team has earned an invitation to participate in the World Championships in Houston Texas. This is the 10th time Team 870 will attend this event alongside 600+ teams from around the world.

Team 870 has partnered with the Southold School Educational Foundation to raise funds to help defray the cost of travel expenses for the 26 students from Southold, Greenport and Mattituck high schools who together with their mentors, have put in countless hours after school and on weekends to achieve this success.
