Support South Arbor Charter Academy Science Olympiad Teams!
A new school year has arrived, and with it begins a new fundraising cycle for the South Arbor Charter Academy Science Olympiad program. We're excited to build on last year's momentum—and with your help, we can make this year even better!
Our Mission
Science Olympiad is one of the premier science competitions in the nation, challenging students with rigorous, standards-based events in subjects like Anatomy & Physiology, Experimental Design, Meteorology, and more. Our middle school team (grades 6-8) competes in numerous invitationals throughout Southeast Michigan starting in December, as well as the Michigan Science Olympiad (MSO) Regional Competition at UofM in March. Our Washtenaw Elementary Science Olympiad (WESO) team (grades 2-5) competes with 30 other schools from across Washtenaw County each May. Participation exposes students to advanced topics and invaluable skills that prepare them for future academic success.
Why We Need Your Help
All events are coached by parent volunteers and South Arbor Charter Academy alumni at no charge. However, the cost of running MSO and WESO adds up to $6,000 per year. Funds raised will support a wide range of expenses, including event registration, materials for competition preparation, and team equipment. Most importantly, your generosity ensures that all students can participate. Donations help us cover fees for families who may not be able to afford the costs, ensuring every aspiring young scientist at South Arbor has the opportunity to join and shine.
Last Year's Achievements
We're proud to share some highlights from our most recent 2024-2025 season:

Science is a team effort. With your support, we can:
- Provide all essential materials and resources for a hands-on, inquiry-based experience
- Keep participation inclusive by covering fees for families facing financial hardship
- Compete at local, regional, and state tournaments, giving students their biggest opportunity yet to excel
- If you're able, we hope you’ll consider donating to our campaign - every gift, no matter the size, helps South Arbor students discover the joy and challenge of science. Thank you for investing in our future leaders and innovators!
Go Knights, go Science, and thank you for your support!
