My name is Nadia - many of you have asked how you can help and suggested to do fundraising for my sister Sousou whose life has been unbearably challenging for the last few years. Sousou is my baby sister, whom I love from the bottom of my heart. She is one of the most selfless, giving, and sincere people that I know. She’s so incredibly generous with her time, care, and love. In any hardship or dire situation, she is always the first person to step up to help anyone in any way she possibly can. Sousou is a really special and one-of-a-kind individual. Unfortunately, in early 2020 she was misdiagnosed only to discover she had cancer almost a year later. Sousou is 46 years old and she is a loving mother of four children. She has a 22-year-old daughter, a 16-year-old son, and her youngest twins are only 12 years old.

My sister's life has been a challenge ever since her diagnosis. She has undergone multiple surgeries, several rounds of radiation, and chemotherapy. This has been challenging for her as she needs constant medical care and feels very beaten up, frail, and depressed. She’s had to endure horrible chronic pain on a daily basis as well as deal with the continued side effects of her chemotherapy treatments. As a result, she has not been able to take care of herself or her children and as a devoted mother this has truly taken a toll on her.

This devastating diagnosis came completely unexpectedly and without warning. There is nothing that could have prepared my sister’s family for this. My brother in law is currently the sole provider for the family and has been struggling to make ends meet, especially with the added medical care costs needed for Sousou’s condition.

I am writing this with a warm heart, asking for your support, in whatever capacity possible. It would really ease the financial pressure currently being placed on my brother-in-law, as well as allow for him to spend more quality time with our dear Sousou without the added burden and stress of worrying about how he will be able to afford their family’s expenses. Unfortunately, we cannot change the fact that Sousou has cancer and is suffering. What we can do is show our love and support to her family by donating whatever we can to ease up any financial pressure off of them. Your prayers are wholeheartedly appreciated and please keep Sousou in your heart. Sousou needs all the blessings to beat cancer and get her life back.
