Hi everyone, I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for help for my dog, Sosa. Sosa is my 4-year-old pocket bully that I rescued from the shelter in 2024. He has been the happiest, most loving dog, and seeing him like this has been absolutely devastating. Overnight, Sosa suddenly lost the ability to use his back legs. He went to sleep normal and woke up unable to walk. The veterinarians believe this is a neurological issue affecting his spine. Bully breeds are known to be prone to spinal and disc-related conditions, and unfortunately Sosa appears to be facing one of these serious issues. Sosa has been in significant pain, has had a fever, and has been shaking with chills. The next step is an urgent MRI to determine the exact cause and severity. Based on what the vets are seeing so far, Sosa will most likely need emergency spinal surgery. Without immediate treatment, there is a very real risk that he could become permanently paralyzed in his back legs. The estimated cost for the MRI, surgery, hospitalization, and recovery care is between $11,000–$14,000. This is an overwhelming amount, but it is the only chance to give Sosa the care he needs and the best possible outcome. Sosa means everything to me, and I am doing everything I can to help him as quickly as possible. Any donation, share, or kind thought truly means more than I can express. Thank you so much for taking the time to read Sosa’s story and for supporting us during this incredibly difficult time.
