Hi, I’m a trans woman who has recently been experiencing a period of homelessness.
I had several apartments lined up, but they all fell through due to scheduling conflicts with the other housing group members. I’m neurodivergent, having been diagnosed with autism and major depression. Due to these conditions, I get money from SSDI, which is what I primarily live on along with a small amount from selling art. Despite this, I am going back to school to finish my degree. I have three years of college and just need a few more credits to get an associate's and hopefully transfer to a bachelor's and move onto better things. I have financial aid to cover this but cannot pursue it without secure housing.
My dream is to achieve a doctorate in biology and contribute to ending global warming. I have an emotional support cat, and it’s been very hard having to find shelter for both of us. I’ve experienced violence in previous living situations since I’ve been relying on shady sublets since my last leased housing ended. My upstairs neighbors lit fireworks indoors and burned the building down; I’m not sure how to put it.
I have an apartment that will work for October but need money to be able to survive until then. Anything you can give will help. I’m grateful to those who have read this far. Thank you, and please contribute if it’s within your means to do so.
I hope you have a good day,
