Hola a todos. Esta es mi querida madre Maria, carñosamente conocida por Soqui. Como muchos ya saben, ha estado en el hospital en tres ocasiones corridas desde el 31 de agosto, dos de éstas veces ha sido transportada en ambulancia, debido a asfixia al caminar unos pocos pasos, mareos, taquicardia y un fuerte dolor en el lado izquierdo del hombro y brazo. Estudios realizados revelaron unas proteínas elevadas, la cuales sugerían un ataque al corazón y luego al realizarle varios estudios más, encontraron unos coágulos en las venas de ambas piernas los cuales encontraron su camino a los pulmones, por lo que su diagnóstico es embolia pulmonar. Ha sido un proceso largo y aun falta camino por recorrer. Tiene función renal deteriorada y su oxigenación aún necesita estabilizarse. Aún falta realizarle otro estudio nuclear en los pulmones pero sus venas son muy finas y no han podido realizarle dicho estudio en todos los intentos donde el personal medico no ha tenido éxito. No sabemos cuando puedan darle de alta ni cuales limitaciones tendría al salir del hospital lo que sí sabemos es que necesitará asistencia de equipo médico, seguridad (grab bars, etc.), aire acondicionado ya que el existente no funciona, habilitación de espacios, cisterna, generador eléctrico y muchas cosas más para darle calidad de vida y facilitar su día a día, ya que ella vive sola. En adición, las facturas médicas sólo continuan incrementando. En la medida que nos podamos unir para que toda vez ella pueda retornar a su hogar tenga nuevamente su independencia, aún con asistencia de equipos médicos u otras facilidades, y así tenga la calidad de vida que ella merece. No hay aportación insignificante. Si lo encuentra en su corazón ayudar a mi mamá, se le agradecerá eternamente, si no, una oración para su pronta recuperación y retorno a su hogar será suficiente. Hello everyone. This is my beloved mother, Maria, affectionately known as Soqui. As many of you know, she has been in the hospital three times in a row since August 31st. Two of these times she was transported by ambulance due to shortness of breath when walking a few steps, dizziness, tachycardia, and severe pain in her left shoulder and arm. Tests revealed elevated protein levels, suggesting a heart attack. Further tests revealed clots in the veins of both her legs, which had made their way to her lungs. Her diagnosis is pulmonary embolism. It has been a long process, and there is still a long way to go. She has impaired kidney function, and her oxygenation levels still needs to stabilize. Another nuclear study of her lungs is still needed, but her veins are very thin, and the medical staff has been unsuccessful in all their attempts. We do not know when she can be discharged or what limitations she will have when leaving the hospital. What we do know is that she will need assistance from medical equipment, security (grab bars, etc.), air conditioning since the existing one does not work, enabling of spaces, cistern, electric generator and many other things to give her quality of life and make her day to day life easier, since she lives alone, and her medical bills only continue to increase. To the extent that we can join together, once she can return home, she can regain her independence, even with the assistance of medical equipment or other facilities, and thus have the quality of life she deserves. No contribution is insignificant. If you find it in your heart to help my mother, it will be eternally grateful. If not, a prayer for her speedy recovery and return home will suffice.
