Sweet, sweet Sophie has been fighting hard for a couple of weeks now. During a regular walk in early January, with no moment I can pinpoint, she injured her neck/spine. The vet diagnosed her with a herniated disc (IVDD). This, unfortunately, can be common in Frenchies. To avoid MRI/surgery at the start, the vet recommended bed rest and medication (as is a common treatment for her condition). However, the medication wreaked havoc on her GI system, causing it to shut down. After 5 vet visits followed by an emergency 5-day hospital stay, she is improving in some aspects; however, the vet bills have been tremendous. The road has been quite swift and traumatic, and will continue to be.

I am making this GoFundMe for my dear friend, Steph, the mom of Sophie, in hopes of helping with the very large vet bills. Sophie is an NYC gal, so the cost of treatment is on the high end. This is very hard for her to put out there and on others, and she fully does not expect anything outside of anyone’s comfort zone.
