Our beloved 7 year old kitty Sophie was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism in February. We tried giving her oral methimazole, but it upset her tummy. We then switched to transdermal methimazole, but now Sophie is having side effects (face scratching), so we decided to get her radio-iodine treatment. Our vet ran some tests and she's good to go with the procedure, which will cost over $2,000 and involve a hospital stay of 4-5 days.
