Sophie is currently hospitalized with a newly diagnosed Stage 4 Lymphoma. When she was admitted, doctors discovered a very large mediastinum mass (in her chest) that was causing SVC syndrome, a dangerous condition. In other words, the mass was so large that it was pressing on one of the main veins to the heart, causing severe shortness of breath, significant swelling, and severe chest pain.

After a major surgery and a 2 week stay in the ICU, Sophie has now begun her chemotherapy treatment.

In addition to the physical and emotional toll of this new diagnosis, Sophie is facing financial uncertainty. Sophie is the mom of a 1.5 year old girl Aurora, and not being able to work has been her biggest stressor. Sophie's medical insurance does not cover her cancer treatment, and her doctors anticipate that her treatment will last at least 5 months. Due to her symptoms and decreased immune function from chemotherapy, she has been advised not to return to work during this time.
