Dear friends, family, and community!
Angela and Sophie hope this message finds you well. We are reaching out with a heavy heart to share some devastating news that has completely changed our lives in an instant. Recently, our trailer tragically caught fire 45 minutes after Sophie left and we lost everything we owned in the blaze. How the fire started is still a mystery considering we had no power because we run off a generator and at the time it was off.
We can’t express how grateful we are that our dog was saved just in time by Monica, who rushed to break a window and pulled him out. He’s safe, and that small comfort is what keeps us going right now. However, the loss of our belongings weighs heavily on us, especially with Christmas just around the corner.
In the fire, we both lost all of our belongings. Sophie left the trailer with an empty backpack, which means she’s at a complete loss. Angela lost most of her work clothes and all her personal items.
With the holiday season upon us, this time of year feels particularly tough. The spirit of giving and togetherness is a reminder of what we’ve lost, and it’s hard to navigate these emotions while trying to figure out how to rebuild our lives from scratch and still navigate through everyday things.
We are reaching out to you, our community, for support. If you have any spare food, clothes, dog food, toys, or anything you think you could share, it would mean the world to us during this incredibly challenging time. We know this is a lot to ask, but we truly appreciate any help you can offer, whether it’s big or small.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Your kindness and support mean everything to us right now. We are hopeful that with the help of our friends and family, we can begin to rebuild and find a way forward.
As far as what’s next? We are currently looking at pet-friendly apartments in the area or possibly another trailer, but one that Sophie’s not going to have to completely remodel. We will keep everyone posted. The funds raised by this will be going towards getting new clothes and everything day items, and to help with rent or if we end up buying a new trailer. With some of this money Sophie is going to have a friend haul off all the burnt debris to the dump. We’ve been staying in a hotel so that isn’t cheap so some of this will go toward our hotel stay.
Much love and gratitude,
Angela Anzures And Sophie Colbran-Patterson
