Support Sophia's Show in New York!

Hello, my name is Sophia Elena Stefanopoulos!
I’m a contemporary–ballet dancer, choreographer, Hunter College undergraduate student, and (newly) director/producer in New York City.
I am thrilled to dip my toes into a new experience: putting on a show! Although, I need some help to make it happen!

C(HORIO), the female choreographic showcase!
Purchase tickets for the show, on EventBrite!

The performance will be on Saturday, November 30th, 2024 at Manhattan Movement Arts Center (248 West 60th Street, New York, NY)!

It takes a village to be an artist in New York, hence the name of the project.
Phonetically, C(HORIO) sounds like “choreo” as in “choreography”!
HORIO, χωριό, is the Greek word for “village”. My village is my community. Being in the arts, it’s essential to have encouraging friends, family, and a strong support system as a village.
I owe so much of my artistic journey to the women in my village. They exemplify womanhood with softness and strength; their dualities continuously inspire me. The women I know and love are unique and unstoppable. The female choreographers I’ve sought out to present pieces in the production exemplify these qualities.
Village, community, womanhood, and femininity are at the heart of C(HORIO)’s ethos. These values are integral to our choreographers’ explorations, artistic interpretations, and messages they want to share.

There are 8 wonderful female choreographers presenting pieces:
Abigail Rebekah, Ava Gabrielle D’Eon, Arielle Popovsky, Aryanna Allen, Jeryl Palana Pilapil-Brown, Myrto Panagakis, Natalia Sánchez, and Tulia Marshall!

I am using this GO-FUND-ME page to gather money to cover the theater fees and other costly technical elements for the production.

Thank you so much for your support! The whole community of the show (the choreographers, dancers, theater staff, co-producer Hannah Lipman, and myself) deeply appreciates it! Truly, every penny counts!
