Support Sophia’s Journey to Walk at Shriners

Donation protected
We are from Michigan and traveled to Philadelphia so my granddaughter Sophia could receive care at Shriners. Sophia has arthrogryposis multi congenita, a rare condition that has required her to undergo eight surgeries so far, with two more still ahead. What was supposed to be a two-week stay has turned into six months away from home, as Sophia continues her journey toward recovery.

Being far from home has brought many unexpected challenges. We are in need of donations to help with medical supplies, medication, clothing, and daily needs while we remain in Philadelphia. The support of this community means so much to us, especially since we are not familiar with the area but have heard wonderful things about the kindness of people here. Sophia’s story is even featured on the Shriners Philly website, sharing her courage and determination as she faces her diagnosis.

Our greatest hope is that, by the end of this stay, Sophia will be able to walk for the first time after spending her life in a wheelchair. We are deeply grateful for any help offered to us, and we look forward to the day we can pass that kindness on to others. Thank you for supporting Sophia and our family during this difficult time. With gratitude, Lacey and Sophia.
