Support Sophia's Journey to Brain Surgery

Hello! We are Sophia's parents, Jessica Gustavson and Scott Williams.

We are raising money to cover medical and everyday costs for Sophia's recent 3 week hospital stay and future brain surgery.

Sophia was diagnosed with epilepsy in 2020. With yearly appointments and EEG tests, it has been confirmed that Sophia has: drug-resistant focal epilepsy associated with right hemispheric encephalomalacia/DEE-SWAS.

Along with her epilepsy, she also had a rare condition called Mastocytosis. Unfortunately, with Mastocytosis, it limits what type of epilepsy medication can be used to control her seizures.

As her parents, it's been very stressful to learn our daughter has a rare case of epilepsy that has an end goal of brain surgery. She completed a recent 3 week inpatient stay so that her care team has the data they need to remove part of her brain that is causing her epilepsy.

Brain surgery will take place this summer.

Sophia has such a wonderful personality. She loves to write, enjoys arts & crafts, tell jokes, battle with her siblings, play dates with her best friends but most of all, she carries herself with a nonchalant-go with the flow lifestyle.

Many times, us as her parents, gather the strength to keep moving forward because Sophia reassures us that everything will be okay.

Every roadblock she has faced, she has conquered and we couldnt be more proud of her.

We are asking for donations during this time to help her in any way we can. Donations will be put towards medical bills as recent as her 3 week stay and everyday bills.

We acknowledge that times are incredibly challenging for most and if you cannot donate, sending words of love, prayers, etc.. are absolutely welcomed and encouraged before all else.
