Support Sophia Grace’s Fight Against Craniopharyngioma

Up until just a few weeks ago, Sophia Grace was a bright, joyful 5th grader, excited to finish elementary school and begin the next chapter in middle school. But her world and ours was turned upside down with the unexpected news that she has a brain tumor.

At first, we were told the treatment would involve surgery followed by 33 sessions of radiation. But recently, doctors determined that surgery is too dangerous and could cause lasting damage. Instead, Sophia will undergo six straight weeks of intensive radiation treatment.

Through it all, Sophia has been the strongest one in the room. Rather than seeking comfort, she’s been the source of it her faith, courage, and optimism have lifted everyone around her. Her biggest concern? Not missing too much school. That’s just who she is.

Sophia has already felt the love and support of her friends, classmates, teachers, and neighbors. But now, we need to ask for more. This journey will be long and difficult not just emotionally, but financially. Her mom, Jessica, will need to take a full leave from work to care for Sophia during treatment and recovery.
