Hello, my name is Sonya Porta and I truly appreciate you taking a moment out of your day to read about my situation. After losing my job of 30 years due to unforeseen circumstances, I have found myself unable to make ends meet. After receiving unemployment, along with the help of my 24-year-old son's income, and applying for dozens of jobs, I was able to secure one that begins later this month. Unfortunately, with the timeline of my start date, and unemployment no longer being available, we are under the risk of being evicted this month if our rent and utilities cannot be paid. I have reached out to numerous organizations for help with our situation and was, unfortunately, unsuccessful. This experience is the lowest for me and has left me in a dark and unstable place.
