Hi everyone, this is Sonny. He is our beloved 11 year old chihuahua/terrier mix who has been in our lives since 2014. Over the years, he has been a ray of sunshine and a bundle of energy. He's always been a healthy pup and a light in our lives.
On Monday, November 3rd, Sonny began vomiting profusely and was unable to eat and keep food down. We rushed him to the 24-hour pet hospital near us, where they discovered that his gallbladder had developed what is called a "mucus seal". This basically means that sediment began forming in his gallbladder and hardened, creating a mass. The only treatment for this was emergency surgery. After a lot of consideration, we went forward and had the procedure done, in hopes that he could recover.
Now, he is two days post-op and trying his best to heal up as much as possible. We are doing our best to provide him the best treatment possible following this massive surgery, including him staying at the vet during the day to receive fluids, pain medication, oxygen, etc.
Of course, this whole process has been an expensive endeavor, with our out-of-pocket cost sitting around $9,000. We want to give Sonny the best chance we can at a successful recovery, so we are reaching out to our village in hopes that any support will allow us to give him further treatment and high-quality care. Any donation is appreciated.
Thank you in advance for any contributions and well wishes, we love and appreciate you all <3
